First Nunavut Winter Clothing Drive
The Club and volunteers from local Inuit organizations, completed on Feb. 3, 2011, a clothing drive to collect new or gently used winter parkas, snowsuits, boots, hats, mitts, etc., for Inuit children and youth. This drive which ran from November 1, 2010 to January 30, 2011 collected an awesome 93 large boxes of winter wear for children and youth from birth to 15 years of age. The clothing was then sorted, packed and shipped to Iqaluit, Hall Beach and Sanikiluaq on the Belcher Islands with the generous assistance from First Air, Air Inuit and the Artic Co-operative Limited which provided the cargo space, and transported the clothing north.
