Quota International of Peterborough
Service Projects

Quota International of Peterborough marks 50 years of service in 2010!!!

2010 will see the fifth hearing ear dog being sponsored by the Peterborough club. At $4000.00 per dog, our small but energetic club has loved being able to raise these dollars to help our deaf, deafened and hard of hearing recipients cope a little better with the hearing world. Dog Guides of Canada will be looking for a recipient very soon. If you know of someone who could use a service dog, please contact Dog Guides of Canada, Oakville, Ontario.

This year is bringing us a special challenge as we are participating in Vendor’s Village of the International Dragon Boat Races. With teams from around the world, it is our aim to promote Quota as well as raising service dollars with a portion going to Breast Cancer.

Other service projects include working towards supporting disadvantaged women and children, Brock Mission and Cameron House, our foster child, caring heart pillows, food bank and a Christmas family.

At the International Dragon boat Festival

June 11, 12 and 13, Peterborough, Ontario hosted the International Dragon boat festival for survivors of breast Cancer from around the world and Quota International was there.  Paddlers came from across Canada and the United States and from far off counties - England, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and more.

Quota International of Peterborough, along with the help of Quotarians from all over District 18, had a booth with Quota promotional materials and crafts. We handed out pink ribbon pencils with “QUOTA CARES - QUOTA.ORG” printed on them as well as pamphlets and the “Quotarian” magazine to all who were interested in our work. We also sold our home-crafted items which had tags attached that read “Hand crafted with love by Quota International of Peterborough – to learn more about Quota go to www.quota.org.  Our primary goal was to raise awareness of Quota while raising a little money for our causes.
