Wainwright is a strong vibrant community located in east central Alberta near the beautiful Battle River valley, and is the major service centre for the region. We are a progressive and ever growing and developing community of 5775 (plus 1,000 at CFB Wainwright, a primary training area for Canadian forces) with a historically stable economy and steady growth. Wainwright is a community of delightful contrasts boasting a variety of attractive and comfortable neighborhoods from charming older districts lined with mature elm tress and character homes to steadily expanding new residential subdivisions. There are playgrounds, schools and a host of recreational activities all conveniently close to downtown or work.
The Wainwright Quota Club was chartered in April 1960. There were originally 20 members. In 2009 we have 25 members, including two of the charter members, Jordy Ganderton and Marg Pawsey. The club continues to thrive and although some members move away we have a steady increase in membership over the years.
