Quota International of Weyburn Fundraisers

Some of our well-known annual fund-raisers are the “Carol Festival”, “Women Of The Year Awards” and the “Just Desserts” raffle. The fundraising events carried out by Quota International of Weyburn provide funds for our various service projects.

Just Desserts
Tickets are sold each September for a chance to win a homemade dessert. A winner is drawn each week from October to May and they receive a dessert donated by a Quota member.

Quota Carol Festival

For the last 54 years, the Christmas season in Weyburn has been ushered in with the Annual Quota Carol Festival held the first Sunday in December. Quota invites various choirs from the area to participate in sharing their love of music to the community. A silver collection is taken at the door. Shown above is the “Royal Red” choir and below is the “Free Methodist Hand bell Choir”.

In-House Auction
At one program meeting each year, the members each bring “White Elephant Sale” items and baking for other members to purchase in an auction. Baked goods are always favourites and cause very competitive bidding.

Women of The Year Awards

Quota International of Weyburn is launching it 7th Annual Women of the Year Awards Event, which recognizes the contributions of women to the Weyburn and district community. Local businesses and community groups have been called on to nominate women for four awards: SaskPower Workplace Excellence Award, Quota International Community Service Award, the Investors Group Young Women of Distinction Award and Access Communications Exceptional Entrepreneur Award. Presentations will be made at an awards luncheon at McKenna Hall in Weyburn. Shown above is the 2006 Women of the Year Winners: Lynn Kot - Quota International Community Service Award, Investors Group Young Women of Distinction Award, Brenna Bell - SaskPower Workplace Excellence Award, Kelly Hansen and Bonnie Ernst - Access Communications Exceptional Entrepreneur Award.

Through sponsorship by many community businesses and ticket sales for the awards luncheon, this event has become one of our major fund raising projects.
